Here's what I see: Overland AI has one of the clearest mission statements I've read in a while. "Never risk a human life for a job a robot can do" is a line that does real work. It tells me what you believe, why you exist, and what's at stake, all in nine words.
What stands out to me is how the page balances two carriers. The words carry the mission and the moral logic. The imagery carries the proof: an autonomous vehicle in the snow, soldiers taking cover behind a machine doing the dangerous work, engineers building in a hangar. The two agree with each other. That coherence is rare.
But here's what I noticed underneath the polish: the page is organized around your three technologies (OverDrive, OverWatch, SPARK) rather than around the person deciding whether to buy them. The story is about your stack, not about the program officer's problem. And the single most powerful evidence you have, priming a $20M production contract as the first ground autonomy company to do so, sits in a news card rather than at the center of your argument.
Overland knows its mission cold, but hides the buyer's decision
The mission is your strongest asset. "Increased Ground Power Wins Wars" and "Never risk a human life for a job a robot can do" are not interchangeable slogans. They are specific to what you do, and they carry moral weight. Most defense tech pages sound like a capabilities brief. Yours sounds like a conviction.
But I notice the middle of the page loses that voice fast. "One-to-many autonomous asset orchestration platform" and "end to end modular hardware that provides both the high performance perception and precise control surfaces" read like a spec sheet handed to marketing. The heat drains out. You go from a company with a reason to exist to a vendor listing three product tabs.
Here's the bigger structural thing I see. Your $20M APFIT award as the first ground autonomy company to prime a production contract with the U.S. Military is buried in a press release card. That is your single most credible sentence on the entire page. It answers the one question every defense buyer asks: has anyone real actually bought this and put it in the field? You have the receipt. You filed it under news.
Overland AI builds field-tested ground autonomy for defense that takes soldiers out of harm's way while increasing combat power.
Defense buyers, program officers, and military planners, though the technology tabs also speak to technical evaluators. Recruiting is a strong secondary audience.
Combat exposes humans to lethal risk on harsh terrain, and existing forces lack dependable autonomy to reduce that exposure while multiplying ground power.
Fewer humans in danger, operators turned into force multipliers, and superior off-road tactical maneuver on the toughest terrain.
Your dark graphite palette, bold condensed type, and unstaged field photography all say serious, fielded, and military-grade, which is exactly what the mission copy claims.
Clarity Score v7 reads each company's live homepage, words and visuals together, and scores four dimensions on a 0 to 100 scale.
This board also shows seven legacy primes and public companies as unranked reference points, scored on the same methodology, to show where the established field sits alongside the emerging cohort.
What does Clarity Score measure?
Four dimensions, weighted into the overall score:
How often is the board updated?
Every company is re-scored monthly. The Change column shows movement since the prior reading; the board baselined on Clarity Score v7 in July 2026.
What does Clarity Score not measure?
It measures how clearly a homepage communicates. It does not measure product quality, funding, traction, or whether a company is winning.
Overland AI sits in Sharp but Shallow, with every company on the board. The strong bands open at 75.
