Here's what I see, Lido. You have earned the right to be terse. You are securing Ethereum since 2020, you show $14.3 billion in TVL, and you clearly do not feel the need to sell hard. That confidence reads well to insiders and leaves everyone else at the door.
Your homepage is written for someone who already knows what liquid staking is, why stETH beats holding raw ETH, and what an APR of 2.3% is competing against. For that person, this page is clean and efficient. For anyone still deciding whether staking is for them, it is a wall of numbers with no story.
The gap I keep bumping into is the why. You tell me what you do (liquid staking), you prove you are big (TVL, ETH staked), but you never tell me what problem you solve or what changes for me once I stake. The receipts are strong. The narrative around them is nearly absent.
'Liquid staking with stETH' assumes I already know why that matters
Your hero headline is 'Liquid staking with stETH.' I could drop that onto Rocket Pool or any competitor and it would still make sense. It names the category, not you. The one line that does work, 'Empowering and securing Ethereum since 2020,' is the closest thing to a point of view on the page, and it is set in small type below the fold of attention.
The numbers are doing the heavy lifting. $14,396,207,184 in TVL and 9,139,172 ETH staked. That is authority most protocols would kill for. But raw scale is a receipt, not a reason. You show me you are trusted without ever telling me what that trust unlocks for me.
What is missing is the human on the other side. Who is landing here? A first-time staker nervous about locking up ETH? A DeFi native comparing yields? A treasury manager? The page does not name them, so it does not name their problem either: illiquidity when you stake, complexity, minimum thresholds, validator risk. None of that surfaces. You jump straight to 'here is the product' without 'here is the thing that has been holding you back.'
The stETH insight is right there and buried. The whole reason stETH exists is that normally when you stake, your capital is locked and idle. stETH lets you stake AND stay liquid AND earn across DeFi. That is a genuine reframe. But you never say it. You assume I connect 'liquid' plus 'staking' plus 'stETH' on my own. Insiders will. Newcomers will not.
The Lido Earn and EarnETH sections add products but not clarity. 'Access on-chain increased reward opportunities' and 'optimize for capital efficiency' are more spec sheet than story. You are stacking features on a foundation that never explained why the foundation matters.
Lido is a large, established liquid staking protocol for Ethereum where you stake and receive stETH.
Someone already fluent in Ethereum staking and DeFi who is comparing yields and TVL, not a newcomer.
No problem is explicitly named; the implicit one (staked ETH is illiquid) is left for the reader to infer from the word 'liquid.'
Earn a 2.3% APR on staked ETH while retaining a liquid token, plus access to higher-yield vaults, though the personal payoff is never stated in plain terms.
Your calm, expensive-looking near-white palette and the polished gradient token signal maturity and safety, which agrees with your 'securing Ethereum since 2020' claim rather than the frenetic degen look of newer protocols.
Clarity Score v7 reads each company's live homepage, words and visuals together, and scores four dimensions on a 0 to 100 scale.
What does Clarity Score measure?
Four dimensions, weighted into the overall score:
How often is the board updated?
Every company is re-scored monthly. The Change column shows movement since the prior reading; the board baselined on Clarity Score v7 in June 2026.
What does Clarity Score not measure?
It measures how clearly a homepage communicates. It does not measure product quality, funding, traction, or whether a company is winning.
Lido sits in Lost in Translation, with every company on the board. The strong bands open at 75.
